AC&NC has announced its new JetStor SAS 660IS RAID array family, specified at up to 10 Gbit/s performance and up to 180 terabytes of block-level storage in a 4U enclosure. All of the SAS 660IS systems offer Intel IOP342 64-bit Chevelon dual core processors on each controller along with parity-assist ASIC, an iSCSI-assist engine, a TCP Offload Engine (TOE), and cableless backplane-based design.

These new solutions each feature dual redundant hot-swappable power supplies with integrated turbocooling and separate power connections. Multiple drives can be designated as hot-spares and drives are hot-swappable. All of the new JetStor solutions also offer browser-based management and monitoring software with e-mail event notifications and are VMware certified.
Connectivity and Controllers
The JetStor SAS 660iS and SAS 660iSD arrays provide four 1Gb/sec Ethernet host connections. The JetStor SAS 660iS 10G and SAS 660iSD 10G systems also provide 8 Gbit/s Fibre Channel and 10 Gigabit Ethernet Optical SFP+ ports for increased I/O performance.
The JetStor SAS 660iS and 660iS 10G chassis employ a single redundant active/active embedded RAID controller while the JetStor SAS 660iSD and 660iSD 10G systems offer dual redundant RAID controllers for improved performance and fault-tolerance.
