Today Advanced Computer & Network Corporation introduced two new JetStor solutions, the RDX16 and the RDX48. These new solutions are designed media production, medical imaging and high-performance computing (HPC). The new solutions are a combination of JetStor storage platform from AC&NC, EchoStreams’ server, and RAIDX software for software-defined storage.
The New JetStor RDX solutions are designed to store and deliver large block files such as high-resolution imagery and high-definition film and television content. The solutions can also speed delivery of HPC data and serve as a cluster system building-block or independent HPC storage. The RDX solutions are the only the only large-block media delivery and storage systems to offer RAID 7.3. RAID 7.3 is a triple parity RAID that reduces the risk of system failure and can ensure rapid recovery, even in the event of three disks failing at the same time.
The new solutions use SSDs for caching; this flash technology maximizes the performance of storage and speeds retrieval of data. The RAIDX software comes with a caching controller that ascertains the hot data and automatically moves it to the SSD cache. RAIDX also has error-correction technology that finds and fixes corruptions, without affecting performance, while the disks are in normal operation.
The RDX16 is a 3U 4-bay 2.5”SSD Teir0 and a 16-bay 3.5” HDD Teir1 storage EchoStreams clustered server. Adding a JBOD to the solution can easily scale capacity for the RDX16. The RDX48 is a 4U, 48-bay EchoStreams flash array server. Both solutions can be used by small, medium, or even enterprise businesses that need high-availability storage. And both solutions support all protocols, including SAN, DAS, NAS, Fibre Channel, and iSCSI, reducing complexity and hardware costs.
