Amid the Covid-19 pandemic, more and more of the workforce is staying home to work remotely. While this is great for social distancing to flatten the curve, it may take a toll on IT resources. Cisco aims to help customers with a set of data center offerings that will expand their virtual desktop infrastructure (VDI) including a new, pre-configured HyperFlex bundle with prioritized shipping, and free Intersight management for 180 days.

Several remote workers are already leveraging Webex as the face of work is transformed. Webex will continue on as usual, along with security offers and the above. With this new support, Cisco customers can better aide the growing remote user workforce. Part of the support involves releasing special HyperFlex (HX) pre-configured VDI bundles with prioritized 2-week lead times.
This Cisco architecture for a quick start 500-seat VDI configuration is now available and includes:
Cisco also aims to help with augmentation of the VDI bundle with a 180-day free trial of our Cisco Intersight Essentials edition. Cisco Intersight is a cloud-based SaaS tool that allows user to manage HyperFlex and UCS devices through a single pane of glass. Along with this, the company stated its VDI ecosystem partners, Citrix and VMware, have their own quick start user license bundles that can be used together with the HyperFlex infrastructure.
Public sector and healthcare customers will be prioritized for shipments of HyperFlex nodes and UCS servers. Preconfigured HXAF220-M5SX and HX-C220-M5SX expansion nodes are also available for existing HX environments. These offers will be available globally from now until July 31, 2020.
