Today, DataStax released the code for an Apache Cassandra Kubernetes operator. DataStax was founded in March 2010. Their eponymous flagship product is DataStax is built on the open-source Apache Cassandra database.

The DataStax Apache Cassandra Kubernetes operator is, like all open-source projects, freely available. Like most open-source projects these days, it lives on GitHub. The operator currently supports Kubernetes v1.15 and v1.13. The main features of the operator are that it reduces downtime and lock-in.

Today, DataStax also announced the release of their new Apache Kubernetes operator. It also offers significantly faster and more efficient streaming. By eliminating copy streaming, DataStax says it has reduced operations that used to take hours to mere minutes. The other major new feature is full support for Cassandra Graphs. Graph queries can now utilize native Cassandra data models. This allows users to query using Gremlin traversal language and build multi-model applications with joins, matching and traversals over distributed, large Cassandra data sets.
