Dell has unveiled the Latitude E7270 and Latitude 3460, two new redesigned mobile thin clients purpose-built for professionals on the go who need their intellectual property and data protected. Dell’s new thin clients give mobile workers secure access to cloud applications and data remotely, indicating that they will both ensure the security, manageability and centralized control provided by a virtual desktop environment.
The E7270 and 3460 thin clients leverage leverage Windows Embedded Standard 7 64-bit, with the option to upgrade to Windows 10 and are designed to power the most demanding use cases–from all-day computing to graphics-intensive applications. They feature Intel dual core processors with integrated graphics, 8GB RAM, 128GB SSD, and an extended battery life. Both thin clients provide users with a wide selection of connectivity options and ports including USB 3.0, HDMI, gigabit Ethernet, and WLAN and Bluetooth.

Both the Latitude E7270 and 3460 mobile thin clients support all VDI protocols, and have the ability to connect to Citrix XenDesktop, Microsoft Hyper-V and VMware Horizon. Dell indicates that they are seamless to deploy and consist of flexible configuration and management via Wyse Device Manager, adding that IT managers can easily scale administration to tens of thousands of mobile thin clients (from just a few) as their organization expands.
The E7260 and 3460 also feature the Dell Data Protection | Threat Defense for Windows-based thin clients and Dell Data Protection | Endpoint Security Suite Enterprise, which are designed to provide advanced threat prevention that spans from the endpoints to the data center.
Availability
The Latitude E7270 and 3460 mobile thin vlients are slated for a release in the United States and select countries around the world beginning October 4, 2016.
