Today, Druva announced plans to upgrade their software with improved data protection for Amazon Web Services (AWS) enterprise workloads. The company plans to release the upgrades in the first quarter of next year. Druva was founded in 2008 and provides data protection and management through a software as a service (SaaS) model.
Druva announced extended data protection capabilities for Amazon Web Services (AWS) enterprise workloads, including backup for Amazon Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3), archiving for Amazon Elastic Block Store (Amazon EBS) snapshots and global policies for AWS accounts. Previously, customers have not been able to backup either Amazon S3 or Amazon EBS using Druva’s software. The company is planning to add support for backing up these two common AWS storage services. As part of this new support, Druva is also planning on providing automated, long-term retention options and full lifecycle management of Amazon S3 objects and policies. Users will be able to transition Amazon EBS snapshots to Amazon S3 storage classes like Amazon S3 Glacier and Amazon S3 Glacier Deep Archive while retaining availability for business continuity, compliance, customer contracts, and e-Discovery.
