Today G-Technology announced its latest portable hard drive, the G-TECH mobile USB-C. This new portable drive is ideal for backup and storage and utilizes the new Type-C USB technology. Type-C is a new user-friendly connection that allows users to plug in the device in any orientation. The G-TECH mobile USB-C comes in 1TB capacity and a design to match the current MacBooks with colors in Space Gray, Gold and Silver. G-Technology is also announcing a higher capacity G-DRIVE mobile USB 3.0, with up to 3TB.
1TB of extra capacity can help the student, photographer, or business professional that works on the run. And having a device that matches your laptop never hurts. The G-TECH mobile USB-C is bus powered so there is no need for an additional power supply. And if users don’t happen to have a system new enough for USB-C, the G-TECH mobile USB-C still works with USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 interfaces. From a performance perspective the G-TECH mobile USB-C is a 7,200 RPM HDD that can hit transfer speeds of 136MB/s, which should be more than enough for music, movies, photos, and document files.
For users that need more capacity, G-Technology has updated its G-DRIVE mobile USB 3.0 to 2TB and 3TB capacities. While the HDD isn’t offered in as many color options as the G-TECH mobile USB-C, it does come in a stylish aluminum black case.
G-Technology will be showcasing the new products at the Wedding & Portrait Photography International (WPPI) Expo, March 7-9 in Las Vegas, Booth #732.
