This is the tenth year for re:Invent and usually attracts as many as 60,000 attendees. After the pandemic forced the 2020 event to go 100% virtual, attendees can expect Vegas to be buzzing. This conference offers something for everyone, including an abundance of after-hours festivities.
It’s not just Amazon though, key AWS re:Invent 2021 sponsors and exhibitors include:

AWS re:Invent breakout sessions are lecture-style and one hour long. These sessions take place across the re:Invent campus and cover all topics at all levels (200–400). Sessions are delivered by AWS experts, customers, and partners, and they typically include 10–15 minutes at the end for Q&A.
Virtual attendees can view breakout sessions on demand the week after re:Invent. Access to on-demand breakout sessions is included for in-person attendees.
Workshops are two-hour hands-on sessions where you work in teams to solve problems using AWS services. Workshops organize attendees into small groups and provide scenarios to encourage interaction, giving you the opportunity to learn from and teach each other. Each workshop starts with a short lecture (10–15 minutes) by the main speaker, and the rest of the time is spent working as a group.
Chalk talks are a highly interactive content format with a small audience. Each begins with a short lecture (10–15 minutes) delivered by an AWS expert, followed by a 45- or 50-minute Q&A session with the audience. The goal is to foster a technical discussion around real-world architecture challenges. Chalk talks are one hour long and contain expert-level content presented by AWS experts. There will be hundreds of chalk talks at AWS re:Invent 2021, so be sure to carefully choose the ones that are most interesting to you and come with questions!
These are 60-minute small group sessions with up to six attendees per table, and one AWS expert, who is there to answer questions and provide guidance. It’s just you, your laptop, and the AWS expert.
Watch live streams of the most popular sessions in Content Hubs. Available at Caesars Forum, Venetian, and Wynn, Content Hubs feature multiple session streams in one place with a relaxed environment. In addition, Content Hubs feature experiences from Salesforce and AWS DeepRacer.
There are also labs and boot camps as well as the ability to take AWS certification tests.

You can also schedule a one-on-one session with a support engineer if you want to deep dive into your own questions.
Of course our eye is immediately drawn to Mai-Lan Tomsen Bukovec’s session. Mai-Lan is Vice President, Block and Object Storage, at AWS. Her leadership session encompasses a good deal of content, “learn how to build modern data architectures that scale without limit, respond with agility to unexpected pivots in demand, and fuel innovations with data-driven insights using the AWS storage portfolio and latest launches.”
