The Lenovo EMC px Series Acronis Backup Appliance bundles one Windows server license and one Linux server license for Acronis Backup and Recovery 11.5. Acronis imaging technology synchronizes a complete disk image of server operating system, applications, and data to the NAS. On the client PC side, LenovoEMC px NAS appliances include three licenses of Arconis True Image Lite 2013 to provide protection for Windows PCs.
The Acronis backup engine resides on the NAS in order to provide automated and incremental backup from the NAS to a network storage target, which according to LenovoEMC will compete on reliability and speed with existing options built from open source file copying tools. The Lenovo EMC px Acronis Backup Appliance also incorporates the Milestone Arcus and MindTree SecureMind video surveillance applications with support for PC, Mac, and Linux clients.
