Lexar Professional SL100 Pro Portable SSD Announced

Lexar has announced their Professional SL100 Pro Portable SSD, which features a solid set of transfer speeds up 950 MB/s read and 900 MB/s write; a big improvement over the SL1003. This tiny device features a brushed aluminum finish, and a drop-, shock-, vibration-resistant build, making it ideal for professionals and prosumers who are often on the go.


The Lexar Professional SL100 Pro Portable SSD has been announced, which features a solid set of transfer speeds up 950 MB/s read and 900 MB/s write; a big improvement over the SL1003. This tiny device features a brushed aluminum finish, and a drop-, shock-, vibration-resistant build, making it ideal for professionals and prosumers who are often on the go.

The SL100 also comes with DataVault Lite software, an advanced security solution with 256-bit AES encryption that helps protect against corruption, loss, and deletion. As far as connectivity goes, it features both USB Type-C to Type-C cable and USB Type-C to standard USB Type-A cable and is compatible with the usual Mac OSX 10.6+, Windows 7/8/10, and standard USB ports.

Pricing and availability

Backed by a 3-year limited warranty, the Lexar Professional SL100 Pro Portable SSD is slated for a release this month for $99.99 USD (250GB), $149.99 USD (500GB), and $279.99 USD (1TB).
