Today Mirantis announced that is has acquired Docker’s Enterprise Platform business. This acquisition, along with its employee and customers, will help drive Mirantis’ goal to deliver Kubernetes-as-a-Service with a consistent experience for developers on any cloud and on-prem infrastructure. Details of the acquisition were not made public.
Docker Enterprise Platform is widely used. One third of Fortune 100 companies use Docker Enterprise. The idea behind the platform was to enable developers to seamlessly build, share and safely run any applications anywhere – from public cloud to hybrid cloud to the edge. The two companies will continue to work together contributing to open source development and ensuring integration between their products.
