Netgear Arlo Pro 2 Wire-Free Security Cameras Now Available

Netgear has announced the availability of the new Arlo Pro 2 Wire-Free Security Camera, the next generation of their Arlo Pro camera line. The Arlo Pro 2 features higher-quality 1080p HD video, a sleek compact design for discreet placement, and support for Amazon Alexa for live monitoring of your cameras from the Echo Show and TVs connected with FireTV. Moreover, with its weather-resistant build, Netgear indicates that the Arlo Pro 2 cameras can be placed virtually anywhere, while the Arlo Solar Panel (sold separately) will keep the rechargeable batteries at full charge with only a few days of full sunlight.

With the new full 1080p resolution quality, users can to zoom in for greater detail. Simply “pinch-to-zoom” to highlight a specific area using the Arlo Android/iOS app. In addition, the new Arlo camera features a 130-degree field of view, night vision and advanced motion detection technology for further clarity. Netgear has also outfitted the new The Arlo Pro 2 with handy audio features, such as a built-in speaker and microphone for 2-way communication; and a siren (on the base station) that can be triggered remotely or by motion or audio detection.

When plugged in, the new Arlo security cameras have the ability to detect motion and start recording video even faster. Additionally, the new “Look Back” pre-recording feature will be made available, allowing video moments to be captured even before motion activity is detected. This functionality creates a video recording with three extra seconds of footage before the triggered event so you can get a better story of what actually happened. In addition, the Arlo Pro 2 has a new smart arm/disarm scheduling capability so the cameras can be active based on your schedule or location.  

Users have the option to subscribe to continuous video recording (CVR) feature, a paid plan that captures video continuously, 24/7. The basic Arlo plan, which is included in the purchase of the camera system, covers up to five cameras, and provides a rolling seven days of free cloud storage for the life of product.
