NetApp AFA Now Shipping With Toshiba HK4 SSDs
Toshiba and NetApp have announced that Toshiba HK4 SSDs will now be shipping on NetApp SolidFire SF4805, SF9605 and SF19210 all-flash arrays. This also marks the first non-encrypted SATA SSDs to be shipped on SolidFire AFAs. The use of non-encrypted drives gives NetApp the opportunity to reach new markets.
Druva Expands Global Cloud Footprint
Druva announced that its has expanded the reach of its public cloud offerings to markets in Canada, the United Kingdom, and Hong Kong. This expansion enables customers to better meet regulation challenges across the world. Not only does this support existing customers around the world, it could potentially open Druva up to new customers with specific regulations for their regions.
Cisco Announces Intent To Acquire Viptela
Cisco has announced its intention to acquire the privately held software-defined wide area network (SD-WAN) company, Viptela Inc. This acquisition will expand on Cisco’s existing SD-WAN portfolio. The deal is expected to go through for $610 million in cash and assumed equity awards and take place later in 2017.
Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform Now Available On AWS
This week at the Red Hat Summit 2017 in Boston, MA, Red Hat Inc. announced a new container-native storage solution aimed at extending the portability of containerized applications across the hybrid cloud. This new solution offers consistent, software-defined storage for stateful applications using Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform 3.5 with Red Hat Gluster Storage 3.2. And Red Hat is announcing the availability of Red Hat Gluster Storage for Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform in AWS environments.
Datrium & Sphere 3D Partner On Ready Nodes
Datrium has partnered with Sphere 3D Corp. (a containerization, virtualization, and data management solutions provider) to create Datrium ready nodes specifically for Sphere 3D’s HVE line. The ready nodes will come in two distinct flavors, one geared more toward virtualization and the other more toward VDI. The HVE ready nodes combine Datrium DVX data nodes with optimized HVE servers as compute nodes.

Commvault announced a very successful quarter bringing in $172.9 million in revenue for the quarter and $650.5 million for the fiscal year. Commvault reported a GAAP net income of $3.2 million and a non-GAAP net income of $13.7 million. For the fiscal year, Commvault reported a GAAP net income of $0.5 million and a non-GAAP net income of $48 million. Operating cash flow was $29 million for Q4 20.
