Nexsan has announced the formation of a Technology Alliance Partnership with Veeam Software, an innovative provider of data protection, disaster recovery, and management solutions for virtual datacenter environments. Nexsan and Veeam plan to deliver storage, backup, and replication solutions to enable highly scalable, advanced data protection optimized for hypervisor-independent cloud computing.

Nexsan simplifies virtual infrastructure storage management with disk arrays built on a flexible and efficient architecture, which are capable of being tightly integrated into a variety of operating environments while Veeam Software combines backup and replication into one unified solution.
Veeam Backup & Replication v6 offers cohesive data protection as well as capabilities that improve reliability including streamlined failover and real failback.

Nexsan E-Series SAN and E5000 NAS storage systems were tested with Veeam Backup & Replication v6 by openBench Labs. The test results of the paired solutions demonstrated following benefits:

  • Tight integration with multiple APIs to leverage productivity features developed by third-party vendors
  • Minimization of SAN infrastructure costs for SAN scaling
  • Maximization of storage density and reliability
  • Backup and restore for Hyper-V and vSphere VMs using changed block tracking
  • Automation of incremental backups for near-lossless Recovery Point Objectives (RPOs)
  • Utilization of SSD Drives with instant recovery for sub 5-minute Recovery Time Objectives (RTOs)
  • Verified application recoverability
  • Compressed and de-duplicated data across any disk backup process

A joint marketing initiative has begun through Nexsan’s network of authorized channel partners.
