This rebranding represents the company’s transition from a hardware focus to a software subscription-based model, aiming to broaden its technological footprint across AI and HPC applications in various environments, including on-premises, hybrid, and cloud settings.

Under the new brand VDURA, Panasas is leveraging its foundational parallel NAS technology to develop a high-performance data platform that integrates multiple types of storage media within a singular architectural framework.

Ken Claffey, CEO of VDURA, emphasized that while the PANFS software has consistently delivered top-tier performance and reliability, moving away from proprietary hardware will meet the growing demand for performance versatility and cost-effectiveness in today’s market. He outlined the company’s phased transition, beginning with its role as an Avnet Direct Connect partner, and hinted at a forthcoming major public cloud partnership.
