PEAK:AIO NVMe AI Data Server Launched

PEAK:AIO launched the latest version of its AI Data Server, doubling the performance of the previous version with 80GB/s from a single storage node and reducing the cost of ultra-performance AI data storage by up to 70 percent. PEAK:AIO provides a software-defined storage platform for artificial intelligence applications.

An established vendor in the EMEA AI market, PEAK:AIO’s new software range is deployed on server technology, made in collaboration and support from vendors like Dell, Supermicro, and Gigabyte, and will be distributed by PNY Technologies. With the performance of the latest generation of CPUs, PCIe5, and NVIDIA’s networking technology, PEAK:AIO has achieved HPC-level performance within a single node giving resellers the chance to deliver AI solutions at a reasonable price.

Legacy storage solutions for traditional IT applications and parallel filesystems designed for HPC environments are complex and expensive. They are designed for larger solutions impacting the budget for GPUs and diverting resources away from innovation. PEAK:AIO reduces the cost, delivers faster results for a more effective solution, and allows users to use funds best suited for the project on GPU servers instead of storage.

PEAK:AIO Founder and CEO Mark Klarzynski spearheaded the evolution of software-defined storage (SDS), pioneering the development of a leading iSCSI, Fibre Channel, and InfiniBand SDS framework (SCST) still used and licensed today by leading storage vendors. Mark went on to develop the initial ultra-performance all-flash storage arrays in partnership with vendors such as Fusion-io.

Mark explained PEAK:AIO’s development this way:

“We started the development of PEAK:AIO when it was clear that AI simply did not fit the business model of the existing storage vendors. The user had to compromise between overly expensive flash storage or a slower solution. AI is less about ‘big data’ and more about ‘good data.’ Why would we expect storage designed for the world of big data, HPC, or the enterprise to work perfectly for the new world of AI? It needed new thinking, not just new solutions, but a completely new type of solution.”

As PEAK:AIO scaled through EMEA, they developed a system integrator-friendly solution enabling resellers to provide a complete solution using their skills and experience with their chosen hardware. The latest version of PEAK:AIO provides HPC-level performance with the simplicity of a traditional NAS. PEAK:AIO changes how the AI industry works with storage, enabling larger and faster GPU solutions to be priced for a much broader market.

PEAK:AIO solutions start at under $8K and scale from 50TB to 700TB of NVMe flash per single node and is currently available to resellers for beta testing and will be publicly available in Q2.
