This new version includes features aimed at addressing issues facing modern datacenter administrators and IT teams, said the company. Proxmox also highlights enhancements in various areas such as the web-based management interface, Linux container, Zstandard for Backup/Restore, and user and permission management.

Proxmox is a global provider of open-source server software, and Proxmox VE, is the company’s open-source platform for all-inclusive enterprise virtualization. This platform consists of a central web interface where users can easily run VMs and containers, manage software-defined storage, networking functionality, and more. Also, the platform enables admins with multiple integrated out-of-the-box tools like backup/restore, live migration, replication, and the firewall. The latest version is based on Debian Buster 10.4 and a 5.4 longterm Linux kernel. Proxmox VE 6.2 includes updates to the latest versions of the leading open-source virtualization technologies QEMU 5.0, LXC 4.0, Ceph Nautilus (14.2.9), and ZFS 0.8.3.
Further notable enhancements
Proxmox VE 6.2 is now available for download. Distribution upgrades from Proxmox VE 4.x or 5.x versions to 6.x are possible via GUI updater or via CLI.
