Pure Storage Launches FlashArray for AWS Outposts

Pure Storage FlashArray for AWS Outposts lets organizations modernize applications while keeping control within their data centers.

This week, at AWS re:Invent, Pure Storage unveiled the Pure Storage FlashArray for AWS Outposts. This solution integrates Amazon Web Services (AWS) capabilities with Pure Storage’s enterprise storage technology, empowering organizations to modernize applications while retaining control within their data centers.

Beginning immediately, customers can seamlessly attach block data volumes from Pure Storage FlashArray to Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) instances on AWS Outposts, all through the familiar AWS Management Console.

Bridging On-Premises and Cloud: A Unified Hybrid Cloud Experience

The Pure Storage FlashArray for AWS Outposts offers enterprises a transformative option for creating a seamless hybrid cloud infrastructure. AWS Outposts is a family of fully managed solutions that extend AWS infrastructure to virtually any on-premises or edge location. When combined with Pure Storage’s FlashArray storage platform, organizations gain simplicity, reliability, performance, and data efficiency at an unmatched level. By leveraging the AWS Management Console, IT teams can quickly deploy this integrated solution, ensuring a consistent and efficient hybrid cloud experience.

Benefits of Pure Storage FlashArray for AWS Outposts include:

    • Modernize Hybrid Infrastructure: This solution allows enterprises to create hybrid infrastructures that integrate on-premises environments with AWS services. Pure Storage FlashArray’s external block data volumes are fully integrated with EC2 launches, offering a simplified user experience with AWS’s familiar tools.
    • Performance with All-Flash Storage: FlashArray delivers all-flash storage with microsecond performance, doubling application speeds and cutting latency by 50% for virtualized and cloud-native apps.
    • Efficiency and Cost Savings: Pure Storage’s data reduction technology optimizes storage, cutting costs and improving efficiency. Using proprietary flash technology, FlashArray reduces energy consumption and space requirements, leading to significant savings.
    • Enterprise-grade Data Protection and Resilience: Features like SafeMode™ Snapshots offer strong security and fast recovery, protecting vital data from disruptions. Compliance and resilience capabilities fulfill enterprise-level requirements, providing reassurance for IT operations.

Jan Hofmeyr, Vice President of EC2 Networking and Edge at AWS, highlighted the collaboration by expressing that the integration of AWS Outposts with Pure Storage FlashArray enables customers to run cloud services with enterprise-grade storage in their data centers. This collaboration enhances infrastructure modernization and helps organizations innovate and scale while maintaining control and performance.
