QNAP has launched the 2-bay TS-253E and 4-bay TS-453E, adding to their already extensive lineup of small to midsize business NAS solutions. The TS-x53E series NAS solutions is powered by an Intel Celeron J6412 quad-core processor (burst up to 2.6GHz) and is designed specifically for managed service providers, system integrators, and other IT-related businesses.

For components, the TS-x53E series is outfitted with 8GB of RAM (which cannot be expanded), dual 2.5GbE connectivity, and dual M.2 2280 PCIe slots. It also features an HDMI output, allowing for surveillance monitoring and direct multimedia playback use cases as well as the ability to port trunk with the dual 2.5GbE ports, which will give organizations up to 5Gbps bandwidth for improved performance and multi-user service.

Those who decide to install NVMe SSDs via the dual M.2 PCIe slots and leverage SSD caching to boost overall NAS performance or to enable QNAP’s auto-tiering technology (Qtier).

The TS-x53E series is managed by the latest version of the QTS operating system, which features a range of NAS business applications, including:

  • Snapshots, which can be used to protect NAS against ransomware
  • myQNAPcloud, which allows users to connect securely to NAS via the Internet
  • Hybrid Backup Sync, which easily backs up NAS files to the cloud or remote/local NAS
  • QVR Elite, which allows users to build a surveillance system
