Downtime is unacceptable in this day and age. However, DR plans can stress the IT budgets at some places. With Hyper Data Protector users have a license-free way to backup VMs (whether all of the VMs on a Hypervisor or select individual ones). The solution features incremental backup, global deduplication, backup scheduling and recovery compression to optimize backup/recovery times and still hit storage requirements. QNAP has been branching out adding faster connectivity such as 10GbE, 5GbE, and 2.5GbE to several of its NAS, a benefit for companies with virtualized infrastructure.

Hyper Data Protector is said to support multiple version retention for up to 1024 versions. To keep thinks up and running, the solution can recover a point-of-time backed-up VM from the backup server and move it to the production site if one there goes down. This helps to minimize RPO and service to downtime. Hyper Data Protector supports VMware vMotion, the live migration from VMware.

Supported Source Platforms:

  • VMware vSphere: 6.0, 6.5, 6.7
  • Microsoft Hyper-V: Windows Server Hyper-V 2016, Windows Server Hyper-V 2019

Availability

Hyper Data Protector can be downloaded from the QTS App Center.
