QNAP TS-h1290FX All-Flash Tower NAS Launched

The QNAP TS-h1290FX-7232P is the company’s first PCIe 4.0 and U.2 NVMe/SATA all-flash tower form factor NAS solution. As such, it is well-suited for demanding work environments like collaborative high-resolution video workflows that involve real-time 4K/8K video editing and collaborative editing.

The TS-h1290FX is highlighted by AMD EPYC 8/16-core processor options, built-in 25GbE and 2.5GbE connectivity, PCIe Gen 4 expansion, and up to PB-level storage capacity.

The TS-h1290FX sports a modern, easily scalable design. QNAP has also made its new NAS fully compatible with mainstream software solutions while offering direct connectivity for up to 20 PC/workstations when using one of QNAP’s PCIe network card addons.

In addition, its fanless CPU cooler and near-silent 90mm system fan will help make the TS-h1290FX operate smoothly during workloads without much noise. For performance, the new QNAP NAS is quoted to deliver upwards of 816K IOPS read and 318K IOPS write in iSCSI 4K random speeds. This means it can potentially handle data-intensive and latency-sensitive environments, including large media file transfer, real-time editing of 4K/8K media, and virtualization applications.

The TS-h1290FX comes equipped with four PCIe Gen 4 slots, which add quite a bit of flexibility to the NAS. This includes adding a range of different expansion cards such as QNAP 2.5/5/25/40/100 GbE network cards for speedy throughput or an entry-level graphics card to improve video editing and transcoding performance.

Users can also scale as their businesses grow via expansion enclosures (e.g., TL-D800C or TL-D800S) while the QNAP QDA-UMP4 adapter allows users to add an M.2 PCIe Gen4/Gen3 SSD.

The TS-h1290FX is also powered by the ZFS-based QuTS hero operating system, which gives users comprehensive storage management, data protection, and optimized performance for their business-critical tasks.
