QNAP has designed the TS-x53D series for businesses looking for a 2.5GbE NAS solution as well as for gamers who need supplemental space to store their game collections. The new NAS line also features a PCIe expansion slot, multi-cloud backup, cloud storage gateway, and 4K HDMI output.
The TS-x53D series is equipped with an Intel Celeron J4125 quad-core 2.0 GHz processor (with bursts up to 2.7 GHz), up to 8GB of DDR4 memory, and dual 2.5GbE RJ45 ports, the latter which can deliver up to 5 Gbps transfer speeds under Port Trunking. The PCIe 2.0 expansion slot adds flexibility, as users can up the NAS functionality with the addition of things like a 5GbE/10GbE network card, QM2 network/storage card, or QWA-AC2600 wireless adapter. The TS-x53D also supports SSD caching for low-latency applications as well as auto-optimized tiered storage with Qtier technology, which helps it to reach a good balance between optimal performance and storage utilization.
