QSAN Technology has announced the 3U, 16-bay XN8016R and the 4U, 24-bay XN8024R rackmount server solutions. QSAN indicates that these new releases are the first members of the XCubeNAS family that support both SAS and SATA drives, giving users the ability to further supplement performance based individual use cases.
Powered by an Intel Xeon Quad-core processor, the XN8016R and XN8024R come equipped with 8GB of DDR4 ECC Memory, which can be scaled up to a whopping 128GB. Moreover, both rackmounts run QSM, QSAN’s comprehensive proprietary operating system that features file sharing, data backup, and security functionality. QSM runs on ZOL (ZFS on Linux) as well. This is an enterprise-grade transactional file system that leverages storage pools to manage physical storage.
