Today Ravello Systems announced that it would enable broad access to Nutanix Community Edition through fully automated and customizable deployments on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud. Ravello is using its nested virtualization and software-defined networking technology for rapid design and testing in the public cloud allowing users to bypass the costs that are involved in attaining hardware and ensuring compatibility.
Ravello’s technology revolves around a nested hypervisor, HVX, with overlay networking and storage. This allows users to run existing virtual environments within self-contained capsules. These virtual environments can be ran on public clouds such as AWS and Google Cloud and include VMware ESX, KVM and Nutanix Acropolis. Ravello recently used its technology to simulate hacker attacks in the cloud.
With Ravello’s nesting technology users can deploy Nutanix Community Edition on a public cloud without using any hardware. Users can take advantage of Ravello’s blueprinting technology to create and share complex, fully configured multi-node deployments in the form of templates that can be deployed as-is or further customized if required.
The new offering is ideal for users such as:
