Samsung Wireless 1.5TB Drive Released

Seagate has announced that its Samsung HDD business unit is shipping their new Samsung Wireless external drive for mobile users, which allows up to five users to connect to the device making it ideal to use as a entertainment hotspot. Samsung’s new 1.5 TB wireless drive has the ability to hold up to 750 movies, 375,000 MP3s, 425,000 photos or a combination of these multimedia or other type files.

With the Samsung Wireless' sleek design, small form-factor, and light weight build, the media device is an attractive companion as it is designed specifically as a portable accessory to consumers’ mobile devices, including smart phones and tablets. The Samsung Wireless fulfills a variety of today’s multimedia demands so that it can fit into every generation of mobile lifestyle. Additionally, no internet connection is required and it streams content wirelessly (using WiFi) to up to five devices.

The new wireless drive supports Android 2.3 or higher, Windows 8/7/Vista/XP SP2, and Mac OS X 10.6 or later and is equipped with a USB 3.0 port. The Samsung drive can also connect to other wireless networks to provide internet access as well as local streaming. In addition, the drive has long battery life, with up to 7 hours per charge. Users can also use the Samsung Wireless to actually charge their mobile devices.
