Synology DiskStation DS923+ Highlights

The DS923+ supports over 50TB out of the box and can scale to more than 120 TB across 9 drives via the DX517 expansion unit. Users can also boost performance by adding 10GbE networking cards or M.2 NVMe SSD drives using the built-in PCIe slot, the latter of which can enable fast caching or create additional all-flash storage pools. Synology quotes speeds up to 592MB/s read and 562MB/s write.

Remote teams will benefit from site-to-site file syncing, which enables content mirroring between Synology devices. In addition, Synology Drive offers comprehensive file management and sharing features. The DS923+ also supports Synology Hybrid Share, which efficiently stores cold data in the cloud and keeps frequently accessed files (hot data) cached on the device for access at LAN speed.

Synology DiskStation DS923+ Security

Synology’s Active Backup Suite allows users to back up IT infrastructure (Windows and Linux systems, Hyper-V and VMware VMs, and Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace accounts) and then easily restored. Moreover, users can create backups and point-in-time snapshots of data stored on the DS923+ and send them offsite to another server or cloud service.
