Synology DS414slim 4-Bay NAS Announced

Synology has announced the DS414slim, a 4-bay NAS that fits in the palm of your hand. Using 2.5" drives, the DS414slim has a max capacity of 6TB (1.5TB x 4). The DS414slim using the DiskStation Manager (DSM) 5.0 OS, twice as much RAM as its predecessor (DS411slim), a floating-point unit, and has the ability to serve up to 128 active connections. All this can be achieved with a surprisingly small footprint.

The DS414slim is ideal for small to home business or media enthusiasts that need versatile, advanced storage. Utilizing DSM 5.0, users have Quickconnect, allowing access through diverse applications such as iOS, Android, and Windows Phone. Users also have access to Cloud Station, giving them a private cloud to sync their files no matter where they are or what device they are using.

  • Up to 2048 user accounts, and 256 user groups

Pricing and Availability 

The DS414slim is available now globally, it will be available in the US in mid-June with a MSRP of $299.99.
