Synology NVR216 Compact NVR Solution Announced

Synology has introduced the NVR216 compact NVR solution designed for small shops, offices and other places where space is an issue. The NVR216 is equipped with a dedicated 1080p HDMI output, which allows users to directly connect to a monitor for easy surveillance, as well as the ability to manage cameras and recordings. Available in both a 4 or 9 channel configuration, each channel can run at 720p/30FPS for smooth video feedback. Additionally, NVR216 can be expanded to 4 drives when leveraging the DX213 expansion unit, which gives the new NVR solution a “future proof” build; something that growing businesses often desire.

Synology has introduced the NVR216 compact NVR solution designed for small shops, offices and other places where space is an issue. Available in both a 4 or 9 channel configuration, each channel can run at 720p/30FPS for smooth video feedback. Like all Synology NVR devices, the NVR216 runs with Surveillance Station, which provides multiple notification settings to keep users notified and alerted. For example, if any suspicious movement is detected by a camera, users will receive snapshots of the recordings through email. Users can also set up a notification if camera is disconnected or damaged through SMS.

In addition, the NVR216 supports the DS cam app, the mobile extension of Surveillance Station. Available for both iOS and Android devices, this handy app gives users access to Live View, playback, and adjustable PTZ as well as the ability to receive push notifications. Users can also browse through recorded events via a timeline bar to move backward or fast forward to any point of their recorded surveillance.
