Today at the Everything Open Source Conference (OSCON) in Austin, Texas, Univa Corporation announced that it is launching a new way to manage enterprise container workloads on Kubernetes distributions, Navops Command. Navops Command is designed to allow enterprises to take full advantage of Kubernetes distributions by implementing sophisticated workload placement and advanced policy management.
Headquartered in Chicago, Illinois, Univa Corporation’s primary aim is to innovate workload management products that optimize performance of applications, services and containers. Using its Grid Engine and Navops, Univa states that they can enable enterprises to fully utilize and scale compute resources across on-premise, cloud, and hybrid infrastructures. Univa states that they work with hundreds of companies with some of its customers being Panasonic, Siemens, and United Airlines.
One of Univa main products is its Navops Suite, of which Navops Command is a part. According to Univa, this suite of products can help enterprises take full advantage of Kubernetes while providing the ability to quickly and easily deploy a container-ready infrastructure and run containers at scale. Utilizing workload placement and advanced policy management across on-premise, cloud, and hybrid infrastructures, Navops enables organizations to automate micro-service applications and efficiently respond to end-user demand. Navops Command runs on any Kubernetes distribution allowing customers to choose which vendor to work with in the Cloud Native Computing Foundation such as RedHat’s OpenShift, Navops Launch or CoreOS’s Tectonic.
