Veeam Software has introduced Veeam Data Cloud, a cloud backup and recovery solution built on Microsoft Azure. The platform combines the reliability of Veeam’s backup technology with the accessibility and convenience of a cloud service. Today, Veeam Data Cloud offers backup-as-a-service (BaaS) for both Microsoft 365 and Microsoft Azure, providing resilience and leveraging advanced data protection and security technologies in a seamless user experience.

Anand Eswaran, Veeam CEO, highlights the increasing demand for Backup as-a-Service (BaaS) and Disaster Recovery as-a-Service (DRaaS) solutions, stating that 88 percent of enterprises are likely to adopt these services for some of their production servers. With Veeam’s expertise as a leader in data protection and ransomware recovery, coupled with its position as a leading backup provider for Microsoft 365, the company is now offering these trusted capabilities as-a-service. These new offerings, integrated within the Veeam Data Platform, provide organizations with simplified backup operations management while ensuring cyber resiliency and reliability.

The cloud-native design of Veeam Data Cloud, combined with the robust data platform of Microsoft Azure, offers the best protection for Microsoft 365 and Azure data. Instantly ready out-of-the-box with policy-driven simplicity, the architecture follows Zero Trust principles and utilizes Azure Blob Storage isolated from production environments. It is continuously versioned and maintained, ensuring that backups remain safe, secure, and ready for fast recovery. This all-in-one service includes backup software, infrastructure, and storage, minimizing costs and simplifying management for organizations.

Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft 365, based on Veeam Backup for Microsoft 365 solution, offers comprehensive data protection and recovery for Microsoft Exchange Online, SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, and Teams. With features like a modern web UI for easy management and unlimited storage bundled with ongoing maintenance covered by experts, enterprises can confidently safeguard their Microsoft 365 environment.

Veeam Data Cloud for Microsoft Azure, Veeam’s first SaaS offering for Azure backup, provides fully hosted and pre-configured backup services for Azure VMs, Azure SQL, and Azure Files. Offering quick ROI, enterprise readiness, and confident recoverability, this service streamlines backup and recovery processes, controls cloud costs, and optimizes business continuity for Azure-based workloads.
