Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has taken a significant leap forward in AI storage technology with the expansion of HPE GreenLake for File Storage. This enhanced offering introduces new high-density, all-flash options explicitly tailored to fuel large-scale enterprise AI and data lake workloads.

Compared to the previous release, the latest HPE GreenLake for File Storage options boasts a remarkable 4x increase in capacity and up to 2x the system performance per rack unit. These advancements enable a doubling of throughput at AI scale while simultaneously slashing power consumption by as much as 50%. Customers can accelerate workloads, cut costs, and significantly reduce data center footprint and energy usage thanks to a new controller with double the processing power and storage units featuring a 1-RU 1.3560PB all-NVMe JBOF.

By bolstering HPE GreenLake for File Storage with these enhancements, HPE reaffirms its commitment to delivering enterprise-grade performance, simplicity, and efficiency at AI and data lake scale. These improvements empower organizations to fully leverage the power of AI, extracting maximum value from their data while enhancing productivity for data scientists, line-of-business application owners, and IT personnel.

Improved Performance

The latest storage shelf introduced by HPE significantly boosts the capacity density of the high-end offering by an impressive 7x compared to the mid-2023 release. Additionally, HPE GreenLake for File Storage now offers up to 2.3x the capacity density of competitors.

HPE GreenLake for File Storage expects to deliver enterprise performance spanning the entire spectrum of AI operations, from data aggregation and preparation to model training, tuning, and inferencing. Unlike legacy scale-out NAS solutions, HPE GreenLake for File Storage scales performance and capacity independently, offering sustained performance across the entire scale of data.

Moreover, HPE GreenLake for File Storage provides a simplified, cloud-like experience with intuitive file data management. Powered by the HPE GreenLake platform, it offers streamlined deployment, easy file share creation, and unified storage management through a single cloud console accessible from anywhere.

By offering 4x the capacity per rack unit density and halving power consumption compared to legacy NAS solutions, customers should see substantial savings with HPE GreenLake for File Storage. Additionally, the platform features industry-leading data reduction capabilities, non-disruptive upgrades, and an AI storage-as-a-service consumption model, eliminating overprovisioning and maximizing ROI.
