This week, at VeeamON 2020, Veeam has announced a new Veeam Availability Orchestrator (VAO) v3 and new DR Pack. VAO v3 provides intelligent orchestration and testing for business continuity and disaster recovery (BC/DR) and migration operations. And the new DR Pack is a game-changer for enterprise-grade DR, which delivers orchestration and automation capabilities at a price point unheard of in this market.
Veeam indicates that VAO v3 and DR Pack will allow businesses with up to 80% cost savings and a purpose-built disaster recovery (DR) planning and compliance solution while immediately receiving a purpose-built disaster recovery (DR) planning and compliance solution for all workloads. These products can dramatically simplify and improve DR and business continuity by eliminating the need for difficult upfront decisions, such as those around what workloads not to protect.
In addition to cost savings, this release now enables customers to orchestrate failover on NetApp ONTAP storage to a secondary recovery site, whether it be a DR site or a new data center in the case of data center migration. Enables automatic testing, dynamic documenting, and executing DR plans in as little as 1-click from single applications to entire sites. This release also simplifies and improves DR and business continuity by eliminating difficult upfront decision making around what workloads not to protect.
VAO enables Veeam and NetApp ONTAP users to:
In addition to VAO v3, Veeam also provided a look into its future product roadmap during VeeamON, specifically on Veeam Backup for Microsoft Office 365 v5 and Veeam Availability Suite. The Veeam Availability Suite offered new features, including near-continuous data protection, object storage integrations, and instant recovery.
VAO v3 and DR Pack general availability is expected within the next 30 days.
