Cohesity & Pure Collaborate To Bring High-Performance, Cost-Effective Secondary Storage

Through a joint customer, Credit Acceptance Corporation, Cohesity and Pure Storage have worked together to combine Pure Storage’s All-Flash array with Cohesity’s consolidated secondary storage platform. Through a joint customer, Credit Acceptance Corporation, Cohesity and Pure Storage have worked together to combine Pure Storage’s All-Flash array with Cohesity’s consolidated secondary storage platform. The combination of the two technologies gives customers the best of both worlds with an increase in performance through the all-flash array while being able to maximize the value of the secondary data.

The Cohesity Data Platform is a hyperconverged secondary storage platform that, in their words, enables enterprises to take control of snowballing data growth and complex storage environments. Cohesity goes on to claim that customers can reduce their footprint by 80% while realizing immediate cost efficiencies by starting with backup. Pure Storage delivers all-flash arrays that can provide the performance needed for critical applications.

Cohesity is working with Pure to leverage Pure Snapshots for backup and optimize end-to-end performance, especially for high-performance, bare-metal workloads. The two companies have completed full interoperability testing and are now working toward custom API integration.

Though this appears to be the first time Cohesity is working with a flash vendor it most likely won’t be the last, meaning Cohesity could potentially bring their platform to numerous other customers in the future.
