Dell Technologies has announced new AIOps Capabilities, including the new CloudIQ support for PowerEdge servers and PowerSwitch networking that now covers all of Dell EMC-branded infrastructure portfolio. This allows for more intelligent AIOps capabilities, including new levels of automation.
Dell EMC CloudIQ is a free, cloud-based SaaS (Storage-as-a-Service) solution that gives customers a comprehensive way to monitor, analyze, and troubleshoot the company’s storage systems. This means users can quickly and easily discover how their storage is behaving, which allows them to proactively resolve any current issues that might be causing problems as well as anything that might potentially harm their business in the future. This update is one of many from Dell, as they have been constantly updating and enhancing CloudIQ since its release back in 2016.
Dell EMC CloudIQ leverages machine learning (ML) and predictive analytics to do all of this, bringing greater insight into Dell EMC infrastructures while accelerating daily IT administration workflows and mean time to resolution. Overall, CloudIQ adds a ton of value to a business and Dell has proven that it will continue to update and add features so customers can have a valuable set of analytics and insights at their disposal.
As for this specific update, the new support for PowerEdge servers and PowerSwitch networking helps lower risk and improve IT productivity by monitoring multiple OpenManage Enterprise consoles for PowerEdge servers. It also does this by proactively monitoring all PowerSwitch networking using a single view.
That said, CloudIQ and all of its functionalities is an intuitive tool that gets better with age. Technologies that use predictive analytics like this are often more useful to businesses, as the historical data it collects can detect patterns and trends, thus having the ability to identify what is normal for particular systems. Using CloudIQ in the data center is certainly a viable way to maximize efficiency.
