Dot Hill announced its RealSure software built into it RealStor storage operating system used in Dot Hill’s AssuredSAN storage arrays. This new software is designed to address the performance demands of Big Data Analytics. It was also announced that the Dot Hill AssuredSAN Ultra48 is being integrated into the Teradata Data Warehouse Appliance 2800.

RealSure software adds real-time intelligence to workload scheduling. Instead of the controller processing the query as it arrives, RealSure optimizes scheduling of queries. RealSure scales in performance as the number of queries increase. This assures quality of service stays consistent and that all requests are processed in a manner that maintains performance as if the system was dedicated to each query. Not only will this optimize performance for big data analytics in general, it can also optimize performance for vertical markets such as HPC, oil & gas, video surveillance, and network management.

Teradata is also integrating Dot Hill’s AssuredSAN Ultra48 into its Data Warehouse Appliance 2800. The Ultra48s in the 2800 will be running the RealSure software with all of the benefits mentioned above. The Data Warehouse Appliance 2800 comes configured with multiple Dot Hill AssuredSAN Ultra48s and is ready to run. The appliance is a fully-integrated system, purpose-built for integrated data warehousing.
