Elastifile announced that its Elastifile Cloud File Service for Google Cloud Platform (GCP) entered general availability this week. We previously covered Elastifile’s Cloud File Service for Google Cloud when it was just entering early access late last year.
Elastifile Cloud File Service for Google Cloud Platform is a fully managed file service delivering POSIX-compliant NFS file services and a full suite of cloud-native enterprise NAS features (including snapshots and multi-zone accessibility). The service is deeply integrated with GCP and uses a native user interface to provide monitoring, billing, and support through the same access points existing Google Cloud Platform users are already familiar with. The new services are also fully compatible with Kubernetes, data resilience for preemptible cloud VMs and scalable Network Attached Storage (NAS) for cloud-native services. Overall, Elastifile is delivering exactly the product that we've been anticipating ever since their early release version last December.
Now that the service is in general availability, we know a bit more about how much the service will cost. Elastifile offers both subscription and pay-per-use options. The subscriptions all have a minimum capacity purchase of 20 TB. There are three subscription options starting at six cents per GB per month. There are also three pay-per-use options. The first is ten cents per GB per month with a typical performance of 2 GB/s BW @ 120TB capacity. The second option is targeting general users at seventeen cents per GB per month with a typical performance of 10 GB/s BW @ 120TB capacity for active data. The final option is for workloads requiring high performance and steps the performance up to 16 GB/s but at almost twice the price; thirty cents per GB per month.
