Today at VMworld 2015, Huawei Technologies announced that its OceanStor converged storage portfolio has been certified for VMware vSphere 6.0 virtual platform and Virtual Volumes (vVols). This certification includes its 18000 series, V3 series, Dorado series and VIS series.
Huawei’s OceanStor converged storage portfolio passed the required vSphere 6.0 certifications. This certification enables VMware vSphere Storage APIs for Array Integration (VAAI) for Block, VAAI for Network Attached Storage (VAAI NAS), Pluggable Storage Architecture (PSA), and Site Recovery Manager (SRM) to be ran on OceanStor. OceanStor is now also certified for vVols giving users more control and flexibility on how storage is consumed down to the VM level.

Huawei OceanStor converged storage portfolio is currently available and its vVol-ready solutions are expected to be available in the fourth quarter of 2015. Huawei will be showcasing its OceanStor certified for vShpere and vVols at booth #535 at VMworld.
