Today Kingston Digital, Inc. has launched their latest SSD, the DC1000M. Designed to be an affordable drive with NVMe performance, the DC1000M targets enterprises looking to replace aging SATA or SAS-based systems. The drive comes in a U.2 form factor and capacities up to 7.68TB. At the high end, performance is specced at 3,100MB/s sequential read and 2,800MB/s sequential write in the 7.68TB drive. 4k read IOPS top out at 540,000 on the 1.92TB drive and write IOPS hit 210,000 on the 3.84TB and 7.68TB drives.

Kingston has been on quite a tear lately, launching several SSDs to target increasingly specific use cases in the enterprise. In their entry-enterprise SATA category we reviewed the DC500R, DC500M, and the DC450R. We also took at look at the DC1000B, an M.2 NVMe drive. By adding the DC1000M, Kingston creates further breadth in their NVMe portfolio, which will make up an increasing number of unit sales as SATA and SAS drives edge toward retirement.
The DC1000M comes in 960GB (SEDC1000M/960G), 1.92TB (SEDC1000M/1920G), 3.84TB (SEDC1000M/3840G) and 7.68TB SEDC1000M/7680G) capacities with five-year warranty and are available now.
