Today Lenovo announced its new Lenovo AI Workstation. According to Lenovo, the new workstation is an out-of-the-box, client workstation platform designed to decipher the complicated process of getting started with AI solutions and enhance the efficiency of many machine and deep learning workflows. The new workstation is built on two of the company’s most powerful workstations the ThinkStation P520 and ThinkStation P920.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is quite possibly the next frontier of technology across multiple segments. The adoption of AI is growing in several industries. While the adoption and use is growing, getting the most out of AI possible is still an issue. Users need to not only have a good understanding of AI they have to have the equipment necessary to fully utilize it. And Lenovo is helping with the second part.
Lenovo has taken two of its most powerful ThinkStation workstations the P520 and P920 for use as AI Workstations. These workstations are equipped with Intel Xeon processors, ECC memory, and the latest NVIDIA Quadro RTX professional GPUs with AI-optimized Tensor Cores to drive the most demanding AI projects. On the OS side of things, the workstations come with Ubuntu Linux, an OS made for data scientists looking for the ideal software layer, delivering an NVIDIA RAPIDS-ready platform to support a number of GPU-accelerated AI frameworks and algorithms.
The specific configurations for he AI Workstations are:
The above workstations can give users key advantages with working with AI including security, control, and improve efficiency. Lenovo also offers a software solution Lenovo Intelligent Computing Orchestration or LiCO. LiCO allows users to cluster together workstations at the desktop and then scale into the data center.
