Lenovo Simplifies IT Infrastructure Deployments With EMC VSPEX

Lenovo announced that its Flex System can now be used to power EMC VSPEX reference architecture for private cloud and VDI. The new solutions are aimed at lowering total cost of ownership, faster deployments, and simplifying management, all of which are key concerns of enterprise and mid-market customers. Lenovo will offer three solutions for customers: EMC VSPEX by Flex System for Private Cloud, EMC VSPEX by Flex System for VDI, and EMC VSPEX by Flex System for Private Cloud and VDI.


Lenovo announced that its Flex System can now be used to power EMC VSPEX reference architecture for private cloud and VDI. The new solutions are aimed at lowering total cost of ownership, faster deployments, and simplifying management, all of which are key concerns of enterprise and mid-market customers. Lenovo will offer three solutions for customers: EMC VSPEX by Flex System for Private Cloud, EMC VSPEX by Flex System for VDI, and EMC VSPEX by Flex System for Private Cloud and VDI.

Lenovo provides a complete portfolio of x86 server-based EMC VSPEX reference architecture for private cloud and VDI with its Flex System based architecture, two updated ThinkServer offerings, and its upcoming System x (from IBM). EMC VSPEX is a reference architecture that is designed to reduce operating expenditures by higher system utilization, streamlined cabling, fewer network connections, consolidating management tools, and creating administration task efficiencies. EMC VSPEX will enable IT to focus more on critical business needs.

EMC VSPEX by Flex System for Private Cloud is a combination of EMC storage with Lenovo's Flex System compute, networking, and virtualization components for business large and small. Together they will provide an enterprise-ready private cloud solution that will reduce the time needed to setup and deploy workloads, will be highly flexible and scalable, and supports VM environments from 200 to 1,000 VMs. Flex system chassis support "in place" upgrades as well, so customers can easily upgrade with the latest technology.

EMC VSPEX by Flex System for VDI is a combination of EMC storage with Lenovo's Flex System compute and networking with VMware virtualization. This end-user computing infrastructure solution allows IT managers to deploy, manage, and maintain thousands of employee desktops from a single user interface. This solution can be deployed in hours reducing costs.

EMC VSPEX by Flex System for Private Cloud and VDI is a combination of EMC storage with Lenovo's ThinkServer systems with the latest Intel processors, RackSwitch networking, and VMware virtualization. This solution gives SMBs enterprise-grade scalable infrastructure, with benefits previous only available to enterprise customers.
