Morpheus Data won the Best of VMworld Award for Agile Operations and Automation this year (2018). Not content to rest on their laurels; they are rolling out enhancements to their multi-cloud management platform (CMP) that won them the award. The new release adds simplified OpenStack support, better AWS CloudFormation, and integration with Dell Technologies storage and cloud.

With the latest software release Morpheus is simplifying OpenStack management by enabling customers to directly orchestrate actions from the Morpheus interface, such as:

  • create OpenStack Octavia load balancers
  • assign to VMs for dynamic scaling
  • create and attach OpenStack Neutron SDNs and domain name assignments
  • connect directly from the Morpheus UI to instances running within OpenStack via hypervisor console access

Morpheus is also adding support for execution of application blueprints using native AWS CloudFormation. This is in addition to existing support for HashiCorp Terraform, Microsoft ARM, and native Morpheus templates. With support for a full suite of IaC template languages, Morpheus lets IT operations teams enforce governance and standardize provisioning processes.

Morpheus has been working with Dell EMC to integrate Isilon and ECS for file and object storage and is now rolling it out. At the same time, they are adding Avamar data protection into their multi-cloud management platform. Morpheus has also integrated Virtustream, the cloud services business of Dell Technologies, enabling customers to consolidate management of public, private, and managed cloud platforms. This is all being added to connectivity into over 20 other public and private cloud platforms to provide an impressively broad integration hub aimed at enabling DevOps teams.
