Pure Storage announced an expanded, multi-year product and go-to-market partnership with Microsoft to deliver Pure’s storage capabilities to native Microsoft Azure services. The new product will leverage Azure’s new Premium SSD v2 and introduces customers to Azure VMware Solution (AVS) in Preview.

Pure Cloud Block Store for Azure VMware Solutions is in Preview in 16 Azure regions globally. With the joint solution, customers can access enhanced features and functions. Topping the list is Optimizing AVS costs. With Pure Storage compression and deduplication technology, organizations can achieve a high data reduction ratio on VM workloads in Azure. Plus, with Pure’s ability to decouple block storage costs from compute costs, customers should realize sizable savings off their baselines for storage-heavy workloads.

Taking advantage of Evergreen innovation in Azure and through the integration of Azure’s latest storage solution, Premium SSD v2, Pure Storage empowers shared customers to achieve unusual infrastructure cost savings, up to a third less than Pure’s previous platform. This upgrade doesn’t compromise performance or capabilities and extends these benefits to AVS customers.

Given the ability to streamline and secure cloud migrations, customers can seamlessly migrate applications to the cloud without compromising capabilities, offering independent scaling of storage and compute based on specific needs.

Utilizing Pure Storage Safemode Ransomware Data Protection, Pure Storage’s continuous snapshot creation and protection mechanism ensures data integrity and instant recovery options. Leveraging this safeguard is now possible with Azure VMware Solution and Pure Cloud Block Store.

Customers can implement Adaptable Disaster Recovery by employing Purity’s data protection features, including zero-RPO ActiveCluster, near-zero RPO ActiveDR, and Purity CloudSnap, to tailor disaster recovery strategies to specific data needs, to ensure efficient protection and restoration.

Leveraging Pure Storage’s high availability and cloud replication capabilities for disaster recovery targets on AVS, customers can optimize their Disaster Recovery Resources. This configuration allows minimal compute and storage, which dynamically scales when needed, ultimately enhancing cost-effectiveness in disaster recovery planning.

Organizations can achieve streamlined governance, management, deployment, and consistent multi-cloud data strategies by adopting the same data management platform across on-premises and cloud environments.
