QNAP Makes Multiple Announcements At CES 2016

CES is always full of announcements from various vendors. Each year vendors announce new products, new enhancements, new partners, or new services. QNAP is covering the whole gamut with announcements for consumer, SMB, and enterprise for its networked storage. Among the announcements is a portable NAS, the TBS-453A.


CES is always full of announcements from various vendors. Each year vendors announce new products, new enhancements, new partners, or new services. QNAP is covering the whole gamut with announcements for consumer, SMB, and enterprise for its networked storage. Among the announcements is a portable NAS, the TBS-453A.

QNAP is making an effort to change the way people think of NAS by introducing a portable version. The TBS-453A comes in a compact chassis enabling users to take it with them on the go. The NAS isn’t shy on power either with an Intel Braswell N3150 quad-core processor, 8GB of RAM, support for M.2 SSDs, and dual HDMI ports. Other announcements include:

  • A full lineup of new products of home & SOHO and SMB segments. TS-x53A series enjoys the upgrade from the previous Bay Trail to the newest Braswell family. A new entry-level ARM-based TS-x28 series powered by QNAP’s QTS OS.
  • QTS  adds more SMB-centric features such as Qpulse centralized remote server management, network virtual switch, HDMI-enabled desktop alternative OS such as Linux/Ubuntu, Android and many more.
  • New enterprise products including the TDS-16489 supporting dual Intel Xeon processors aimed for simultaneous backup and computing. QNAP will also showcase its ZFS-enabled ES-1642dc with its dual-controllers targeted for mission-critical business applications.
