QNAP has added to the TS-hx77XU QuTS hero NAS series with the 16-bay TS-h1677XU-RP and 24-bay TS-h2477XU-RP rackmount models. The new additions feature AMD Ryzen 7, two 10GbE ports, AES-NI encryption, several PCIe slots, and a redundant power supply. In addition, the NAS rackmounts feature the advanced ZFS-based QuTS hero operating system and offer up to one petabyte capacity per shared folder making them both highly reliable systems with cost-efficient benefits. QNAP indicates they are best-suited for small/medium business use cases.
QNAP has added to the TS-hx77XU QuTS hero NAS series with the 16-bay TS-h1677XU-RP and 24-bay TS-h2477XU-RP rackmount models. The new additions feature AMD Ryzen 7, two 10GbE ports, AES-NI encryption, several PCIe slots, and a redundant power supply. For components, the TS-h1677XU-RP and TS-h2477XU-RP are outfitted with the new AMD Ryzen 7 3700X 8 cores/16 threads 3.6 GHz processor (Turbo Core 4.4 GHz) and can be equipped with up to 128 GB DDR4 RAM, making it ideal for multi-tasking capabilities with virtual machine performance support.
Both models feature two iSER-enabled 10GbE SFP+ SmartNIC ports, which work well with SSD caching to improve overall IOPS and 10GbE performance. This makes it great for business virtualization, large file sharing, high-speed backup/restoration, and multimedia editing/transfer. Users can also outfit the NAS with different PCIe cards to increase its versatility, such as 10/25GbE network cards to add extra network I/O ports, QM2 cards for more M.2 SSD space, Fibre Channel cards for SAN storage, and QXP storage expansion cards for more storage scalability options.
With QuTS hero, the QNAP’s new NAS solutions offer extensive data integrity and self-healing capabilities with a range of possible RAID configurations, RAID Triple Parity, and Triple Mirror. It also features inline data deduplication, compression, and compaction, which helps to reduce the overall storage footprint, improves random write performance, and increases the total lifespan of populated SSDs.
Like all QNAP solutions, the TS-h1677XU-RP and TS-h2477XU-RP have access to the company’s extensive App Center, which features software to improve versatility. This includes apps that allow users to host virtual machines and containers, simplify backups, implement backup solutions for Google Workspace and Microsoft 365, and centralize VMware and Hyper-V virtual machine backups.
