QNAP Systems has added another high-capacity, compact 9-bay NAS with the multimedia-centric TVS-951X NAS. Highlighted by a 7th-generation Intel Kaby Lake processor and its affordability, the 951X can be used as private cloud solution due to its storage capabilities and 10GbE high-speed connectivity. Moreover, its 10GbE connectivity, multimedia transcoding/streaming, and 4K HDMI output makes for highly-efficient, feature-rich and high-performing NAS solution.
The 7th-generation Kaby Lake 14nm Intel Celeron 3865U features low-power funcationality via its dual-core 1.8 GHz processor. The TVS-951X sports a hybrid drive bay design (i.e., five 3.5-inch drive bays and four 2.5-inch SSD slots) and comes equipped with built-in 10GBASE-T (10G/5G/2.5G/1G/100M) network port. Users looking to leverage the hybrid storage support can maximize both capacity and performance through SSD caching and Qtier auto-tiering storage.
For graphics, the TVS-951X is outfitted with advanced Intel HD Graphics 610 and supports dual-channel 4K H.264/H.265 hardware decoding and real-time transcoding for up to 30fps at 4K via a TV using the HDMI output. Users can also stream media files to a range of devices using QNAP's Cinema28 multi-zone multimedia application, Plex Media Server, or Roon Server.
