QNAP has announced the availability of the new TVS-x72XT NAS series, which comes in models of 4, 6, and 8 drive bays. Highlighted by 8th Gen Intel Core processors and both 10GBASE-T and Thunderbolt 3 connectivity, the new TVS series is ideal for resource-intensive workloads as well as for transferring, displaying and editing 4K videos in real-time. It also supports M.2 PCIe NVMe SSDs and graphics cards for those who work in a high-speed file sharing and collaborative environments.

The TVS-x72XT series features AES-NI encryption and Intel UHD Graphics 630, the latter which allows for triple-channel 4K H.264 hardware decoding and real-time transcoding. Moreover, its PCIe slot gives users the ability to expand the flexibility and performance of the TVS-x72XT. Users can add entry-level graphics cards, a QNAP QM2 card for M.2 SSD caching (NVMe SSDs with 2280 form factors) or further 10GbE (10GBASE-T) connectivity.

The TVS-x72XT is equipped with a 5-speed 10GBASE-T Multi-Gig port (10G/5G/2.5G/1G/100M), two Thunderbolt 3 ports, an HDMI 2.0 output and supports 4K (3840 x 2160) at 60Hz. Users also have the option of using QNAP’s software-defined SSD extra over-provisioning (between 1% and 60%) for optimal SSD performance and maximized SSD lifespan.
