Data is growing with no sign of slowing down. In fact with new disruptive innovations like the Internet of Things, data will only grow faster. Enterprises need a way to store this data for potential insights and it needs to do so without introducing too many new form factors. The Exos X14 keeps the same familiar 3.5” form factor but allows for even more storage. Seagate has achieved this through enhanced areal density. The new drive is said to offer the best power efficiency and performance for its class.

Being designed for data centers, the new HDD not only has more capacity it also comes with great security. The Exos X14 has built-in Seagate secure security, that encrypts data without performance degradation. The new HDD also features the United States government’s Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 140-2, Level 2 certification and the Common Criteria for Information Technology Security Evaluation (CC) – an international computer security certification standard (ISO/EIC 15408).

Availability

The Seagate Exos X14 is sampling with select customers and is expected to be available this summer.
