Today at CES Synology Inc. announced new DiskStation units, the BeyondCloud bundles. Unlike their previous DiskStation units, the BeyondCloud come with everything preconfigured: the units, the disks, the OS, and various features preinstalled. Users should be able to take the units out of the boxes, plug them in, and get to work.
The main selling point of BeyondCloud is that the units are inexpensive and preconfigured to save time. Users will be able to have their own private clouds as soon as they have their units up and running. The units use DiskStation Manager as their OS and come in single disk 2TB and 3TB capacity, and dual disk 6TB (3TB x 2) in mirror configuration.
