G-Technology has announced new rugged storage solutions, the G-DRIVE ev RaW with Rugged Bumper and the G-DRIVE ev ATC with Thunderbolt/USB 3.0, which are designed to help keep content safe from bumps and bruises due to its drop-resistant build as well as protection from the elements with the ability to float when dropped in water.
G-DRIVE ev RaW with Rugged Bumper
Available in capacities of 500GB and 1TB, the G-DRIVE ev RaW is a resilient and lightweight portable hard drive that can easily fit in a backpack, briefcase or purse, yet is strong enough to withstand a 2-meter drop. It is 35% lighter than the original G-DRIVE ev and is USB 3.0 bus-powered. Additionally, the G-DRIVE ev RaW comes with a USB 3.0 cable and is formatted for Mac, though it can easily be reformatted for Windows.
Key features:
G-DRIVE ev ATC with Thunderbolt and the G-DRIVE ev ATC with USB 3.0
Both of these external storage solutions feature an all-terrain case (ATC) with a tethered Thunderbolt or USB 3.0 cable that protects the lightweight, removable G-DRIVE ev RaW USB hard drive. In addition, it features a watertight drive compartment, which floats in water, and can withstand a two meter drop as well. It is also designed so that data is protected from pressure, shock, water and dust and the removable case is compatible with the Evolution Series and can fit the G-DRIVE ev or G-DRIVE ev SSD. Like the ev RaW, it comes formatted for Mac but can be easily reformatted for Windows.

These adapters will be priced at $129.95 (Thunderbolt model) and $79.95 (USB 3.0 model) and will be available in February.
The G-DRIVE ev RaW is slated for a January release in 1TB ($129.95) and 500GB ($99.95) capacities.
