TrueNAS 12.0-U3 Now Available

iXsystems has released TrueNAS 12.0-U3, marking another important step towards the transition from FreeNAS to TrueNAS. With this newest update, the company considers TrueNAS as a “higher quality release” than FreeNAS 11.3-U5 (which will be its last release) and that it now has more content and capabilities. iXsystems also adds that it is ready for mission-critical enterprise deployments and will be the default release for new systems.

Considered by iXsystems as the official merger of FreeNAS and TrueNAS, TrueNAS 12 has a lot to offer organizations and is arguably one of the most comprehensive NAS software platforms out there. The company claims that virtually all significant bugs were resolved in the previous release (TrueNAS 12.0-U2), so everything after this is considered improvements to an already-stable platform.
